I am all for using formats such as Groupon, Living Social, Amazon local - but what hasn't been discussed yet is WHAT DEAL is MMP going to offer the participants? Is it going to be a discounted entrance fee? Or free cape? or??? I am trying to weigh the pros and cons as to what would make it beneficial to MMP to use any of these. The way these sites make their money is to take a fairly large chunk to promote the event, etc. Since the entrance fee is nominal at best - once it's discounted to make a groupon member (or whoever) sign up thru that site, and the site takes its fee - other than exposure for MMP - it doesn't seem like a real money maker. Thoughts?

Great thought. We are planning to charge a higher entry fee this year with the idea that we will have to decrease for groupon and lose about 25%.
